The Board of the Peel Addiction Assessment and Referral Centre (PAARC) is in need of an experienced Interim Executive Director to lead the organization for approximately one year during the current incumbent’s maternity leave.

About Peel Addiction Assessment and Referral Centre (PAARC)

PAARC provides a community treatment experience that includes counselling (individual and/or group), tailored to meet the needs of its clients. To provide the best experience, community treatment includes comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, case management, and referrals to other programs and services that will benefit clients. PAARC also offers an aftercare program for persons coming from residential treatment who would like ongoing support as well as information and education about substances, gambling, emotional concerns, and mental illness.

The Interim Executive Director (ED) will endeavour to ensure that PAARC is successful in accomplishing its mission, given the resources available. In collaboration with the Managers and Clinical Supervisors, achieve organizational goals and objectives and support PAARC’s vision through values-driven leadership. The Interim ED will provide day-to-day management to the organization as a leader who is effectively bridging all facets of PAARC during the maternity leave of the current Executive Director and acting as the ED for approximately one year.

The Board is looking for experienced interim leaders with the following attributes:

  • Ideally interim leadership experience in non-profit OR strong track record as Executive Director or CEO of a non-profit organization
  • 5 – 10 years in a senior leadership role
  • Strong business acumen, experience in budget planning and overseeing financials
  • Fluency in partnerships both with other NFPs and government funders (familiarity with MSAA)
  • Deep experience working with a governing Board of Directors
  • Highly strategic and decisive including experience with change management
  • Preference for experience healthcare (addictions and mental health)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to speak well in public forums
  • BA/MBA or equivalent experience
