L’Arche is an international organization working worldwide to develop and support communities based on the inclusion and contribution of people with intellectual disabilities.
L’Arche began in France in 1964 as a compassionate response to the plight of people with intellectual disabilities living in grim institutions, shut away from society. L’Arche came to Canada in 1969, when the second L’Arche community in the world, in Richmond Hill, Ontario was founded. Today there are 30 L’Arche communities in nine provinces across Canada. Worldwide, there are over 150 L’Arche communities in 38 countries on five continents.
The primary purpose of L’Arche Canada is to support our 30 communities across Canada so they can live, work, and learn together. L’Arche Canada is a national organization that develops services, tools and guidance to ensure the cohesion, promotion and development of L’Arche in Canada.
We are seeking to meet candidates who have:
- An understanding and appreciation of the needs, aspirations, and barriers of people with intellectual disabilities to live rich and meaningful lives
- Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience and a proven track record in fundraising, cause marketing, corporate philanthropy and/or sales experience with a proven track record of raising gifts over $25,000.
- Proven track record of developing effective prospect pipelines and moving corporations from prospects to donors
- Solid understanding of corporate social responsibility, community investment, social impact, and corporate philanthropy landscape and trends across the country
- Excellent relationship building skills, with the ability to establish trust and confidence of prospects quickly and effectively
- Superior communicator across written and verbal communication platforms, French language skills considered an asset
- Highly adept at managing multiple projects, tracking progress, and providing clear reporting.
- Ability to prioritize among competing projects to work most effectively toward revenue goals.
- Highly collaborative in a large organizational environment, with the ability to sensitively navigate within a diverse workplace.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and plan work, set and achieve deadlines, establish and maintain monitoring systems etc.
- Adept and strategic with CRM systems, data and analytics, eTapestry and / or Raiser’s Edge considered an asset
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work independently from a remote office
- Occasional travel required
- Presence and participation at various meetings (some evenings and weekends)
- Ideally located in the GTA or Ottawa region, however, questions concerning location and mobility will be discussed during the interview
- Clear police check including vulnerable sector screening
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a focus in fundraising, business, marketing, sales or other relevant field or equivalent experience.
- CFRE designation considered an asset
